In reply to: [Gutenberg] A huge, positive changeIt certainly could be great. It isn’t yet.
It’s buggy and missing features. Change can be good – but not all change is.

In reply to: Gutenberg should NOT be defaultIt has some nice new features. I’m not disputing that. But it is lacking important features.
Look at the reviews for Gutenberg. 458 5 star reviews compared to 1808 1 star reviews.
The majority of reviews are negative.
Please don’t misunderstand me, Samuel. I’m all for change. WordPress needs to stay current and updated. But something is very wrong with this picture.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Reusable block error: Block has been deleted or is unavailable.@laurameeks Did you ever get a fix for this?

In reply to: Gutenberg should NOT be defaultOne final thing….
This is a fantastic philosophy: “If the next version of WordPress comes with a feature that the majority of users immediately want to turn off, or think they’ll never use, then we’ve blown it.”
I love that, and it’s so true. Please don’t turn Gutenberg into the very thing you hate.
Gutenberg could be amazing, and I sincerely hope that one day it will be. But it simply is not there yet.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] How to indent paragraph?I’d like to throw in my vote for paragraph indentation in Gutenberg. I understand you want the editor to be clean and simple. But this is a feature many of us used – as several in this thread have said.
I have posted on the Github for Gutenberg and would encourage anyone else who wants this feature to do the same. Let’s let the developers know we would like this feature back.

In reply to: Gutenberg should NOT be defaultA custom class is not a better solution, Samuel. I can understand and appreciate it’s not something you would use. I get that. But those of us who do miss it dearly.
//but if you just throw the full kitchen sink in there again, //
I agree! But that isn’t what we’re asking for.
//The indent button was removed, and it was correctly removed,//
That is your opinion. While you have a right to your opinion, we do to ours as well.

In reply to: Gutenberg should NOT be default@otto42 The implied “you” is those who created Gutenberg. I understand you didn’t create it yourself.
This is something that wouldn’t be difficult to include in Gutenberg and is actually used by many. Even if it was one of the least used features of the old editor, it was still used and is still a need.
While some are comfortable adding CSS and using custom classes, many aren’t. One of the draws of WordPress is its ease of use and power. If that is no longer going to be a part of the WordPress platform, we need to know.
I have filed a bug report on Github with the developers – as have several others. While not strictly a bug, this is a massive hole in functionality.

In reply to: Gutenberg should NOT be default@otto42 I was never polled. Ha.
I like to indent subheadings. I used the feature ALL the time. So unless I’m a nobody…. 🙂
PLEASE add this to the editor. It is very very important for me.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Indent block, line or list item?Apparently we can indent list items (and only list items?). But I need to be able to indent full blocks / paragraphs.

In reply to: The new editor is nonintuitiveI agree as well.
It could be very cool, and I love some of the features it provides. But it has been forced on us. I’m not opposed to change. Change can be good. But it has to be done right – and not break our content.
For me, the lack of indent / outdent in the new editor is a big red flag and a problem. I hope this is added ASAP.

In reply to: Indenting with Gutenberg? It was intended to be funny, but I can see how it could be taken wrongly.
Thanks, Andrew.

In reply to: Indenting with Gutenberg?Understood. I have posted there (and had before this post) as well. I sincerely hope this can be fixed. SO many people are angry about Gutenberg. It could be really good! It _COULD_ be, but WP needs to listen to the community. Right now the community is not happy. Even Joomla (puke) is starting to look good.
Edit: And my comments are still being held for moderation. Yay. I’m not a spammer, so it looks like the automated system has a false positive. Do you know why that might be?
Thanks, Andrew.
