 * I am sincerely sorry that things did not work out well for you. However, proper
use of WordPress Move does not lead to breaking of the original site. I see some
people are having trouble finding the documentation or claiming the instructions
are not clear enough. I agree and I plan to rewrite the documentation from the
   scratch.
 * It actually does move the files. If it did not give any errors during the migration,
regarding transferring files, then probably your files reside somewhere in your
new server. The reason why they are not where they should be is because of the
incorrect Remote Backup Path provided which is a confusing piece of setting indeed.
 * Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!

 * It does not say anything like that. It says:
 * > If you wish to do one or more of the following…
   > • Complete migrating to this server.
   > • Restore backup files listed under
   > the Current Backups section of the Backup Manager.

 * You need to click the **Begin** button under the **Restore** box, when you open
the Migration Assistant, not the one under the Migrate box.

 * There **is**. At the end of this page: [http://www.mertyazicioglu.com/projects/wordpress-move/](http://www.mertyazicioglu.com/projects/wordpress-move/)
 * > You can download [WordPress Move](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-move/)
   > from WordPress Plugin Directory or fork/watch it on [GitHub](https://github.com/merty/wordpress-move).
   > Online documentation is also [available](http://merty.github.com/wordpress-move/).
 * Not only the documentation is [available online](http://merty.github.com/wordpress-move/),
the plugin itself comes with the documentation. It is under the **docs** directory.
 * Let me try once more:
    1. You start migration on your old host.
    2. Transfer the backup files manually, if the FTP connection failed.
    3. Open the Migration Assistant on your new host and select the Restore option.
    4. Click the button to complete the migration.
 * There is no password entrance involved on the new host.

 * Old host **sends** them to the new host. Not the other way around. After successfully
transferring your backup files to your new host, you should open Migration Assistant
   and select the Restore option.
 * Did you read the documentation provided with the plugin?

 * There is absolutely nothing to do with the FTP details of your **current server(
old server/ the server you are migrating from)**. You need to fill in that page
with the FTP details of your **new server (server you are migrating to)**.

 * Not sure about the way that File Manager on cPanel works, so the safest bet would
be to open up an FTP session on the **target host (new server)** to locate that
   info.

 * To put it simply: You are providing the FTP details of your **new server** on
the WordPress Move Settings page of your **current installation.**. That way
your current installation will be able to connect your new server.
 * I’m aware of the fact that Remote Backup Path is really confusing, even for the
people with some technical knowledge. However, it is a piece of information that
depends on the way your server is set up, the way your FTP account is set up
etc, so it is not possible to guess what it might be. The easiest way to find
it out is the method I suggested in my previous post.
 * If it got even more confusing, use the second method I mentioned, which is to
trick WordPress Move and transfer backup files manually.

 * You are establishing an FTP connection the server you are migrating to, so those
are the FTP details of your new server.
 * Open your FTP client and connect to your new server. Navigate to `/wp-content/
plugins/wordpress-move/backup/`. Somewhere on your FTP client, there must be
a text box showing the full path to where you are, like, `/public_html/wp/wp-
content/plugins/wordpress-move/backup/`. That is exactly what you need to enter
to the **Remote Backup Path** field.
