If I even tried to load any wp-admin pages (or my website, period), I would get the white screen of death with warnings and fatal error messages. By FTP, I first deleted the admin and include directories, deleted the themes and plugins from the content directory, and then copied over the admin and include directories, all the files in the root of the wordpress directory, and the plugins and themes folders from the content directory.
