  • Hello,

Thank you for your email and your kind words. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the plugin.

We understand that when you share a URL on Facebook the image, title and meta descriptions do not always show.

    – Can you confirm you’re using Yoast SEO version 9.6.0? Does updating resolve the issue?
    – Are all your plugins up-to-date? If not, please update them.
    – Does the issue occur when you deactivate the other plugin which optimizes your images?
    – Can you share some examples of URLs you’re having this issue with?

We look forward to your response.

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with Yoast.

Can you confirm if the issue occurs when you switch to a standard theme like TwentyNineteen (https://wordpress.org/themes/twentynineteen/) and only enable Yoast Premium?

You may wish to install the Health Check plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/) first since it allows you to deactivate plugins without affecting your live site.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with Yoast support.

We think you’re referring to the “Yoast SEO Posts Overview” on the WordPress dashboard. If this is not showing for you, please check the following:

    – Can you confirm you have the right user permissions? You can check by going to Users->Your Profile->Yoast SEO settings (may need to scroll down) and confirm that both “Disable SEO analysis” and “Disable readability analysis” are unclicked?

    – Can you confirm that the SEO, Readability, and Insights are all enabled by going to SEO->General->Features and checking that SEO Analysis, Readability Analysis, and Insights are all set to ‘On’?

    – Can you confirm that the SEO and Readability are enabled on the posts? You can check by going to SEO->Search Appearance->Content Types and seeing that the Yoast SEO Meta box says “Show” for the respective content type (pages, posts, etc)?

    Does that resolve the issue?

    Hello,

We’re sorry to hear your blog content disappears when Yoast is activated.

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen (https://wordpress.org/themes/twentynineteen/)

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/). This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.

You may be unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, so this step-by-step might be helpful: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/

We look forward to your response.

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with Yoast.

By default, the SEO title consists of “Page Title + Separator + Site Title”. Google recommends including the site title in all your titles, as it makes it easier for users to recognize the brands/websites. You can freely customize the SEO title, but the default value will be good enough in most cases.

We took a look at the source code of your URLs and found the title does not contain the site’s name. It’s possible that the site’s name is being added even after you customized your settings. Whereas Google typically uses the title and meta description from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. Google will sometimes modify the title or description of the URL as it sees fit. This is not due to the plugin not functioning as expected, but rather is due to Google modifying the title it indexes as its algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index and we have additional information on this here: https://yoast.com/google-page-title/

Please let us know if you have any other questions or need any help.

    Hello Derik,

Thank you for getting in touch with Yoast support. We submitted a request to our developers to disable Google+ API calls. You can follow the progress of the request here and add any additional information if necessary: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/12142

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with Yoast.

We ran your URL on Facebook’s debug tool and directly on Facebook. We found the correct title and meta description appear.

This issue occurs from time to time and is resolved when Facebook updates their cache.

Please let us know if you run into any other issues.

    Hi Muhammad,

Thank you for getting in touch. If Google is not indexing your images, this could be due to a number of reasons, but especially for images, it’s generally not something to worry about since your sitemap is detecting images.

Similarly, your robots.txt file isn’t blocking image indexing.

It might be that Google doesn’t find the images interesting enough, big enough or otherwise has decided it doesn’t need to index them. If it doesn’t throw an error, it’s not your fault.

If you’d really like to know the exact reason why your images are not being indexed by Google, please contact Google webmaster forum for assistance.

We also recommend creating a sitemap and submitting it to Google. This may increase the number of images indexed. Here are the steps to enable the sitemap feature, and this is how you submit your sitemap to Google.

    We hope this helps.

    Hi Sam,

Thank you for your message. Can you please activate your plugin and go to SEO > Redirects to see whether any redirects have been created for the homepage? If so, please remove the redirect and let us know whether the issue is resolved.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi Jack,

Thank you for your message and we apologise for the trouble you’re having with our plugin.

In order to help you, we’ll need a little more information. Are you having trouble editing your title? Can you please provide more details?

With regards to the enhancement we made on the snippet preview, we added tabs (buttons) which explain which template variables can be used in the Snippet Preview. The functionality has not changed. You should still be able to add text to the title and remove variables. See steps: https://www.screencast.com/t/9DzGfxV7

We hope that provides some clarity and look forward to your response.

    Hello,

The Meta Keywords tag has been outdated for quite a few years now. We’re sorry the article you read does not yet reflect this information. The update to Yoast 6.3 has removed the meta keywords tag. You can get more information about this change and why meta keywords tag are no longer useful here: https://yoast.com/meta-keywords/

We hope that helps and let us know if you have further questions.

    Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your message. This issue has been resolved. A fix will be with Yoast SEO Premium v7.8. Unfortunately, we do not know exactly when that release is expected. We only know that a fix is expected to be included with it.

You can view the closed issue here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/9650

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

    Hi Mahdi,

Thank you for your message. We have not removed the meta tag features from Yoast. You should be able to access your meta tags (such as title and meta description) when you edit a post or page. Scroll down and you’ll find the Yoast metabox: https://www.screencast.com/t/JuO7TbQuzmBE

If your Yoast metabox is missing, we recommend taking a look at this troubleshooting guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoastseo-meta-box-missing/

    Hi Giulio,

Thank you for contacting the Yoast Support Team. We are sorry you are having an issue with the plugin.

The 500 error is most likely caused by a plugin/theme conflict on your website. We’d recommend the following:
    • Make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress 4.9.6 and Yoast 7.7.3
    • If you’re already up-to-date and the problem persists, you may want to perform a conflict check by following these steps to identify the conflict: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/
    • Check your server’s log for more details about the 500 error. If you don’t know where to check or do not have the privileges to check the error log, please contact your web hosting provider.

We look forward to your response.
