 * Well, for what it’s worth, I think I figured it out.
 * It seems that the plugin can’t understand the feed url unless permalinks are 
   enabled. the standard `/?cat=7&feed=rss2` is not understood by the feed parser.
   If I pass the feed through feedburner or use `/category/categoryname/feed` permalinks,
   it works fine.
