 * Aha, I think I solved it – changed certain folders to 775 – is that ok to do 
   that?

 * “Go to Downloads > Settings > Misc and set the “Download Method” to “Redirect”.
   Does that fix it?”
 * Thanks Pippin, but unfortunately that does not fix it
