    Hi Andrew,

Thanks very much for your swift response. I was messing around on the page and saved a change, suddenly the revisions appeared and I could go back to earlier versions. Very odd.

It isn’t the website you mention but visionforsidmouth.org although it is also hosted by Ionos. The pictures are still missing from the page but when I look at them in the media library they show they are attached to the page.

Thank you for your help. I have renabled the plugin even though it says it has not be tested with the current WP version.

    regards, Mary

    Thanks Peter,

For some reason this reply went into Junk and so I didn’t know I had it as I am not notified from that folder.

As I thought I hadn’t heard from you I followed the instruction to ‘hide’ again and it hasn’t shown up since.
    Thanks, Mary

Thank you for your patience, I have done it and it has worked.

Thank you for all the help, you have answered most of my queries.
However, the question of HOW to ignore them has still not been answered.

Is there any way of doing this as a bulk action?

Or do I have to mark one ignored, and then run a scan so that the next one shows up and I can mark it as ignored, and then run a scan ……. 105 times?

If I have to run a scan to be able to find a thing to ignore it is a laborious job and also put unnecessary load on your servers.

I understand that it is displayed that way initially to avoid having 106 results.

Are you confirming that I have to do 106 different scans in order to mark them separately? Because that is what is happening if I do ‘ignore until changes’ or if I just delete the file.

Will IGNORE >> Always Ignore do 106 in one go?

I don’t know because I can only see the first result! 🙂

To see any other result I have to do something with the result that is showing and then run another scan.

What I see is the bit that you quoted. How do I affect it (and the 105 others) all in pne go?

Thank you for your continued help.
You are right that these are marked ‘high’ not ‘critical’ it was the others that I deleted which were critical.

However, I still have the same problem with marking them as a batch/all at the same time.

If I mark one of them as ignored then the next one doesn’t show up until a scan is run. So to do them individually I have to run over 100 scans, wasting time on your servers and for me.

Could you please tell me how to do them all in one go?
    Thanks, Mary

    Thank you.
However, as I have said I have deleted files with no apparent ill effects in this case. I had a backup and investigated online as much as I could but I can not afford to have WordFence check that the site hadn’t been hacked, this is only a hobby.

Do you recommend that I just mark these current ones as ‘ignore until change’?

If Ionos is known for doing this then is there any way WordFence could not mark them as ‘Critical’ thus causing extreme worry that the site has been hacked? Perhaps saying if Ionos is the host then ignore these?

    Thanks, Mary

    Hi Stef,
    Thanks for the quick response.

As I said, if I try going through the Publicize steps, use ‘try again’ and get the message shown on the link with the little green flag saying I am successful AND then go to wordpress.com I am already signed in so something is connecting somehow.

My host is Ionos and they put an ‘assistant’ on which I usually disable for sites. I have tried connecting with it enabled and it makes no difference. It is not a plugin conflict as I have disabled them all to no avail.

I did as you suggested and used Chrome instead of Firefox and have been successful.

When I look at the site in Firefox it shows that I am connected now, so everything is fine as far as I am concerned but it looks as though you have a problem seeing that firefox is so popular.

If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

Can you please remove my wordpress account name from the post above, I will be taking down the page with the pictures soon so if you need to see them again I’ll send them privately.

Thanks very much for the help, Mary

    Hi Animesh,
Yes that is exactly the problem!
But as I said I have been to settings> Publicize and tried to connect but get the message that ‘something went wrong’ and the ‘try again’ button. It will not connect to wordpress.com.

I have successfully connected and publicized on other sites so know how it shoulf work but it is not doing so.

I ran the online debugger for Jetpack and it says everything is ok.

    To recap:
When I try to activate Publicize I get an error message but if I use the ‘try again’ button it tells me it has connected to WordPress.com but it hasn’t.

If I refresh the screen I am taken back to start again trying to connect.

If I go to wordpress.com my site does not appear in the list of my sites. However, very oddly, I am already logged into wordpress.com so Jetpack must have connected somehow.

Today’s update of Jetpack has not solved the problem.

    Hi Tim,
Thanks but I have read everything I could find about the topic so I had read the article you link to.

I am very grateful that you could replicate the problem, and I am not going mad!

This site is a new one for the Vision Group for Sidmouth, we have several for different projects. Some were built before Gutenberg, some after, some used the classic editor some use blocks; and we use different themes too.

This Champions Awards site is the only one I have used Twenty twenty-one theme in and I am finding it very counter intuitive. For me it is the theme which is the problem not the blocks.

The whole site was built using blocks and I added content given to me by colleagues which I cut and pasted. When I dropped it in a paragraph block they all automatically embedded except the first one. I have done everything I can think of, including things like inserting new blocks in the middle of the others and trying to embedd it there … so lateral thinking has been going on 🙂

So, not only the page but the whole site has been built in Gutenberg with no classic editor input at all apart from when I tried it as a test to get it to embed.

I just can’t understand how you can drop a whole set of links in a page and have all but one embed. Do you know how I can attract the attention of the developers of Twenty twenty-one?

    Thanks, Mary

    Hi Tim,

Yes, whatever I try to do it still shows as a URL when all the others embed and show an excerpt.

I just can’t work out what is different about this URL, unless it is that the title of the page is the same even though the website is different.

Any help you can give will be much appreciated.

Apart from this problem I am finding the twenty twenty one theme glitchy, it isn’t WYSIWYG an many aspects and I have to spend a lot of time previewing to find out what the page will really look like.
I love having the mixed blocks but m finding it hard to arrange them as I want, they don’t drag and drop as I expect but that may just be a learning curve.

    kind regards

Thank you very much Oliver, you are right!

The previous sites I have set up have still used the Classic so this is the first one that is fully Gutenberg, I obviously still have a lot to learn.
