In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] Seems greatSince adding new translations did not change the version number, and since I don’t know how to push out translations by themselves, you will need to download and install Markup-by-Attribute over your existing installation.
To obtain the new translations,
- go to https://wordpress.org/plugins/markup-by-attribute-for-woocommerce/ and download the zip file,
- in your WordPress console, go to
Plugins
>>Add New
, - select
[Upload Plugin]
, then[Choose File]
, and select the zip file you just downloaded, - select
[Install Now]
. - It will tell you, “This plugin is already installed,” so select
[Replace current with uploaded]
.
That’s it! However, the translated lines are in the variable item descriptions. This means you will have to
Set regular prices
again to update the descriptions.I need to do some research to see how to push out the translations independently.

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] Display markup and/or variation priceThat’s kind of a challenge, but I think I see where you are going. Basically, you don’t want the different sizes to appear marked up or marked down. You’d rather it appeared each size had its own price, and more ‘optional’ items, like special colors, were marked up or down. It’s a sort of psychology thing, right? I can always decide to go with a less expensive color. But, if I need an XX-Large shirt, I can’t choose a Regular because it’s cheaper. So, I shouldn’t feel penalized just because of the size. People would rather see the prices instead of “We’re going to charge you an extra $5.00 because you need a big shirt.”
This is not something you can do with the plugin as written. It would take significant code changes. I’m not saying ‘no’, but I need to examine the code and see how extensive it might be. I would have to add a checkbox to the attribute definitions. And then calculate what displays in the dropdown based on whether the attribute’s checkbox is checked or not. Additionally, I’d have to change the language that appears in the description, so it correlates with the language in the dropdown. And, finally, I’d have to discover some way to force only one such attribute per item.
Let me know if I understand you correctly, and I’ll get back to you after I take a closer look.

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] Solution for “any variation” productsThat is a clever solution. Any time an attribute does not have a markup, there is no need to create a variation for it.
Markup-by-Attribute works by changing the prices of the variations. So, I’d have to rewrite it entirely to do anything different.

- The currency format is taken from the WooCommerce currency settings. So one way to eliminate the trailing zeros would be to set WooCommerce >> Settings >> ‘Number of decimals’ to zero. However, that will set ALL currency to not have trailing decimals, and I suspect that is not what you are looking for. I can look into a setting that will affect only the description and the options drop-down.
- The plug-in sets the language to whatever your WordPress language is IF there is a language file for your language. And, unfortunately, being one guy who only speaks English, I only have translations that were sent to me. And those are Polish, German, and a small amount of French. If you would like to send me the text you’d like translated, I can add that.
- Markup-by-Attribute only changes the text of the variation description. And, I’m not familiar with any variation description animation. That sounds like it is part of your theme or a different plug-in.
Hide Base Price
eliminates the line in the variation description that says, “Product price $39.95” (or whatever the original price was before the markup.) Enough people asked for this that I added it.Round Markup
is for percentage markups. Assume you have a 10% markup for XX-Large. If the item is $42.88, then the markup would be $4.29, and the final price is 47.17. If Round Markup is checked, the markdown becomes $4.00, and the final price is $46.88. Again, this is something that was requested.
Hope this helps!

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] Price is multiplying instead of addingYou are correct. Since Markup by Attribute changes the price of the product variations, if you are multiplying the price of the variation, you are also multiplying the markup.
Markup by Attribute may not be the appropriate plugin for you. You may be looking for something like WooCommerce Product Bundles, or something similar.

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] Custom markup language in description?Yes.
Here is another thread where I discuss this. It’s pretty simple.
Here is a little more detailed instructions. And here I go into a little more detail about custom CSS.
Steps 6 and 7 indicate that you set the price on the (single) variation. Markup by Attribute hooks into the
Set Regular Prices
function because it assumes you will have many variations, and will set the prices on each one for you.Set Regular Prices
andSet Sales Prices
will overwrite the prices on all variations and the plugin enhances that function.- This reply was modified 2 years, 11 months ago by Mark Tomlinson.

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] PrecioI’m sorry that I do not speak Spanish, but I’ll try to help by using Google Translate.
It sounds like you are not running the
Set regular prices
function on the product after you change the markup on the attributes. Markup by Attribute changes the prices of each variation, so you must reset the price if the markup changes.
I hope that was helpful.
Espero que haya sido de ayuda.

In reply to: [Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce] markups plugin slowing my website downWe conference called and discussed possibilities. I could not reproduce the response time issue, and @ammodevsi suggested he will explore other possibilities for the slowdown.
During the testing of the plug-in response time, I produced this chart, showing the relative response times with the plugin activated, deactivated, and uninstalled.
