 * Finally figured this out – The delete function merely moves the slide show to
   trash; Once you empty trash you can reuse the slideshow id.

 * Solved – Somehow my Web.Config file was overwritten and the Rewrite rules were
   toast. Grabbing the web.config from the production server solved the problem.

 * Thanks, I never went to the migration assistant since I knew that it uses FTP
   but this makes perfect sense. On my next migration I’ll try this. In the short
   term I had done manual backups of the source files (just using 7Zip) and database(
   using MySQL Workbench). I found used the script suggested on the “Moving WordPress”
   article on the Codex (SearchReplaceDB21). Your method, even now, should be easier.
