 * Dear all,
 * please note that I haven’t been able to find people to drive the project together
   with me as I have only masterminded it but lack the code knowledge to provide
   fixes. If anyone could help with resources to push the development, the community
   and I would be extremely grateful.

 * Hi [@adleya](https://wordpress.org/support/users/adleya/),
 * It looks like the version running on your webserver is looking for files that
   are no longer shipping with the new versions. So to make sure it’s all clean,
   can you try the following:
    – delete the footnotes plugin folder manually from
   your webserver. It’s in wp-content/plugins/foonotes – then go to your WordPress
   dashboard -> Plugins -> Add and reinstall footnotes
 * Please let me know how that’s going for you.
 * Best wishes,
    Mark

 * Hi [@zirafa](https://wordpress.org/support/users/zirafa/),
 * please make sure to delete /wp-content/plugins/footnotes on your server before
   you reinstall the previous version. You might have done so already anyway, this
   is just to make sure.
 * After that you might need to clear your browser’s cache as well.

 * [@skeeterz71](https://wordpress.org/support/users/skeeterz71/) thanks for reaching
   out,
 * “footnotes” is currently designed to parse footnotes on a per-page/post basis
   and doesn’t keep a database of footnotes to reuse across multiple pages/posts.
 * Is the functionality you’re asking for your major use case for installing “footnotes”?
 * best wishes

 * Hi [@martinneumannat](https://wordpress.org/support/users/martinneumannat/),
 * can you please let me know how things are going with using footnotes right now?

   There have been a few releases in the meantime and I’m honestly not sure if a
   fix for the Gutenberg block was worked on and rolled up into the latest release.
   I’d appreciate your insight.
 * best

 * Hi [@cybermrmotte](https://wordpress.org/support/users/cybermrmotte/),
 * thanks for reporting this issue. We’re tracking our progress here
    [https://github.com/markcheret/footnotes/issues/81](https://github.com/markcheret/footnotes/issues/81)
 * in the meantime, can you stick with footnotes 2.5.10? You can download it here
   and upload it to your plugins directory.
 * [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/footnotes.2.5.10.zip](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/footnotes.2.5.10.zip)
 * It would give us more time for a comprehensive rollup and release.

 * [@little-shiva](https://wordpress.org/support/users/little-shiva/) no, you won’t.
   The footnotes are saved in your posts and have nothing to do with the footnotes
   plugin being installed or not. You can safely remove footnotes from your /wp-
   plugins folder and upload the content of the downloaded .zip file. Even your
   footnotes settings will remain in place that way.

 * [@little-shiva](https://wordpress.org/support/users/little-shiva/) according
   to my team it was 2.5.9d1 which broke the plugin. 2.5.10 is equal to 2.5.8.

   You can manually deploy and download [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/footnotes.2.5.8.zip](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/footnotes.2.5.8.zip)
   if you want and check back for updates if 2.5.10 doesn’t work for you.

 * Thanks, [@watershare](https://wordpress.org/support/users/watershare/),
 * taking your advice to heart. We’re in the middle of major changes in how we’re
   running the project. Huge amounts of work have been done behind the scenes to
   adhere to WordPress coding standards and reduce the amount of JavaScript used
   to name a few.
    So yes, we’re going to have a more planned release cycle.
 * Best wishes
