 * Thanks for getting back to me woodent. Problem solved though – there was a problem
   with the wordpress installation (it was also causing issues with other plugins)
   so I done a fresh install and all is now operating as it should.

 * I am having the same problem. Now I have enabled PHP5 it will still not let me
   activate the plugin and yields pretty much the same error message as above
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION
   or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/134712/webspace/siteapps/20233/htdocs/
   wp-content/plugins/promotion-slider/index.php on line 35
