 * Thanks, but I had read this, and so I switched (on a trial basis) to MAMP Pro,
   which does support SSL. I know for sure that SSL is working, because in the same
   WP site I’ve got the plugin “Post by Email” working on Gmail, and Gmail insists
   on using SSL. There’s some other problem going on in the communication between
   Postie and Gmail.
