The occasional crawl is fine. 20% of the crawl budget is not. * Also, the correct URL should have been [https://www.domain.com/wp-json/wordpress-popular-posts/v1/popular-posts/](https://www.domain.com/wp-json/wordpress-popular-posts/v1/popular-posts/). And it’s not a 404. It pulls up code for sure. That code is consistent with the output on the pages (references same posts). I can understand where that would get complicated but I don’t think it’s such an uncommon use case that there shouldn’t be some kind of work around.
