 * do you have phpMyAdmin?
    This is the only way I know how to fix that. I had teh
   same problem.

 * It’s ok. I just turned permalinks off. I am not trying to tweak it for search
   engines. Thanks for the help everyone.

 * Ok , so I think I get the point of what is happening with my pages…how do I make
   it so WP will manage the .htaccess file? (I know all about permissions, I’ve 
   been tinkering with *NIX for years and I do have shell access to the server)

 * Thanks for the help so far, but when I try to manage files, it tells me my_hacks.
   php doesn’t exist…help?
