 * Tried the plugin, didn’t work.
    Tried inspecting the header, no HTML was output
   to that effect.
 * Turns out it was because I was working locally. Connect button doesn’t appear
   unless the install is on a server. WordPress is the best!

 * use “find in files” to search for that to see what it’s doing if you don’t like
   it remove it…

 * Had a similar issue recently.
 * Basically you know when you have to sync Jetpack with a wordpress.org account?
   When it does that it saves the link to your website to your wordpress.org account
   for some **STUPID** reason.
 * Happened to me for a site I was working on locally. worked fine of course for
   me, but for anyone outside of our office, it was broken.
 * You will need to disconnect and reconnect jetpack to update the path.
