I skimmed the source code for each and searched for console.warn messages. If we don’t do this then there is the potential that MMR will try to minify a file that is already minified. It really depends on the site and the way it has been built. Lots of small css and js will perform differently than lots of large css/js files. It is possible wp-cron is not firing. Are you able to check that it is working? * Do you mean [@import](https://wordpress.org/support/users/import/)? [@import](https://wordpress.org/support/users/import/) is standard CSS, whereas [@include](https://wordpress.org/support/users/include/) is a Sass thing. MMR will not merge files that have [@import](https://wordpress.org/support/users/import/). This is to ensure compatibility. Minification with a htpasswd protected site should work however.
