    after some research on the database engine my system admin identified a number
   of errors on the db query when attempting to list the replies in the backend 
   view.

 * As the number of replies was still low and we were not able to identify the reason
   for the problem, we simply deleted all replies manually from the db engine which
   resolved the matter. Now all new replies are visible and no problems seem to 
   persist.

 * Hi,
    it is an intranet installation on a MS-Windows Server machine. So from this
   perspecitive it is a full internet installation, I just can not provide access
   from outside yet. Regarding the themes I prefer the twenty fourteen theme and
   I’m aware that there is a localized version which I have as alternative theme.
   Using it does not resolve the matter 🙁 but this was expected. Thomas
