Is that the role you are targeting? * If so, this sounds like a conflict with another plugin you are running. * Can you disable all plugins except for WP Hide Dashboard, and see if it works for a user with the Subscriber role? You can create a test user with that role to do this. * If it does, reactivate your plugins, one at a time, testing each time to see when it stops working again. My plugin redirects subscribers to their profile page upon login. It does allow them access to their profile so they can edit them, as well as being able to see the toolbar.
