 * Driving me mad – I have 20+ domains emailing me every time a scan runs. I have
   changed the Maximum execution time to 60 and below and yet my server reports
   Uptime: 92 seconds.
 * There is no way to pignore a php file.
 * Wordfence is good but these emails are just infuriating.

 * Hi
 * Sorry didn’t mean to hijack the post – I gave up and deleted the install – removed
   the entire domain from my VPS and recreated then restored from back ups and all
   is good.

   all other plugins

 * I have a VPS with about 20 WP installs all running WF – but one – just one comes
   up with We were unable to make changes to the .htaccess file.
 * I have checked permissions 644 – deleted and recreated the htaccess file and
   still can’t get the optimisation to run – there are no other security plugin
   running on this site [http://www.wollongonghomeloans.com.au/](http://www.wollongonghomeloans.com.au/)

 * I can finally confirm that the alert coincided with a scan – but it doesn’t do
   it every time.

 * Well I have tested on several sites and that has not triggered the alert. I also
   tried Wordfence Scan , Live Traffic and WordPress updates but no alerts generated.
 * The files opened by the process are always so appears to be WF Firewall related

 * On reflection i reckon a staff member has decided to copy and paste a post ,
   as there are a number of similar content posts. Trouble is they did a select
   all of the post page rather than just the post and so replicated the entire page
   as one post.

 * On reflection I think this is a user error. They had a whole series of posts
   similar content and I reckon someone did a Select All on the page rather than
   just the post and the Copy and Paste.
 * But the select all has copied every post on the page, making the new post a mega
   post

 * Well this is a strange one – it is not the code or any issue with WP or the theme.
   We had a silence is golden hack which was dealt with IMO appropriately.
 * But I am assuming that one of their little tricks was to take all posts and create
   one big post replicating the appearance of all the previous posts. this meant
   that while edits were correctly happening on the individual post -the hack mega
   post didn’t change and so it appeared that the page was not updating.
 * Simple but bloody costly as I naturally assumed it was a code or cache error.

 * Actually sorry but I think this is the offending code
 *  <!– POST CONTENT –>
    <div id=”post” class=”blog index”>
 *  <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); #— start the loop?
   >
    <div class=”list”> <?php the_date(”,'<p class=”meta”>’,'</p>’); #— insert
   the post date ?> <h2 class=”storytitle”>” rel=”bookmark”><?php the_title(); ?
   ></h2> <?php the_post_thumbnail(‘thumb’); #— feature image ?> <?php the_content(
   __(‘(more…)’)); ?> </div><!– end story –>

 * Is it possible that the code above is deprecated or otherwise at odds with more
   recent updates on WP

 * Ok so I reinstalled – activated all of the secure .htaccess options then checked
   Security Status and started carefully changing permissions folder by folder to
   705. When I got to root folder immediately got
    Forbidden
 * You don’t have permission to access /positions/ on this server.
 * Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument
   to handle the request.
 * Luckily this time it was straight forward to set it back to 755. What am I doing
   wrong?

 * had to do a recursive permission change on public_html – by which time I had
   mucked around so much I scrapped the site and did a clean install and imported
   the sql and theme. I got the site rolling at 8:51 AM – what a night 🙁
 * Any suggestions on how I can ensure that doesn’t happen again – short of not
   installing BPS 😉

 * Oh and it’s not an IP block either as I tried access from my phone using mobile
   network with same result
