And I’m feeling especially stupid! But, the text posted at the top of the thumbnails page reappears at the top of the new tab page with the detail image. Click on either of the 2 photos in the gallery I would like the detail version to appear in a new tab. I’m confused there on a couple of points – * This appears to be a global setting, applies to all galleries? Or does leaving the New Tab box in individual image settings clear prevent images from creating a new tab? I would like to use the New Tab feature for some galleries, but not all. * The drop down list for “Link page” shows “— The same post or page —” plus a couple of my galleries. These are text posts, not image posts, though I would not expect that to make any difference, they were created with the Slider Post plugin. * Nope, the drop down list in the Slider group option box is completely empty, does not show any labels of any kind. So I cannot select it. Thanks for giving this consideration. Just to make it more complicated, the“ large” size could be set as a percentage of the browser window size? You’re right about the excepts not running short codes. Now we seemed to be locked into a circular argument. So on a hunch I tried 6 other themes. 5 out of the 6 displayed the Cover image in the excerpt on the main post index _correctly!_ So this issue was with the Kippis theme all along. The main post index still does not show the Cover thumbnail, even though I also reduced the Cover image size to the minimum, 50px. * And the detail page for the post shows only the Cover thumbnail, an additional mouse click is needed to see the actual gallery.
