 * I have the same problem and it seems to me that there is no field “wpcr3_enable”
   in the postmeta-table by default. Thus, using the backend to set the reviews 
   ON (and after that OFF) creates this field and then the shortcode works.
 * It would be nice if the shortcode would create the field when a review is inserted.
   But I am not familiar enough with PHP to do it within the template. Thus your
   workaround helped me a lot.
