  • Hi

    Thank you very much.

I have implemented the CSP although Ive had to make some compromises on security to ensure the website still functions correctly.

    Hi

No there were no errors showing.

Ive managed to get everything working by relaxing some of the rules a bit.

Although i doesnt give me 100% security it will still be a lot better than it was.

Thank you for all your help

    Hi Dimitar

Managed to get images loading now by using self and hash (‘sha256-ZoLPmUE984t1ctLy65xUnzPSpSzqqcao/3I8AjOTgNw=’)

I still cant get Autoptimize “delete cache” to work.

Could you please point me in the right direction of things to try out in order to solve this?

    Thank you

    Hi Dimitar

Thank you very much for your help.

I tried your suggestion and it passed the CSP evaluator with flying colours.

Unfortunately it seems to prevent images from loading on my website and I noticed the Autoptimize plugin wont allow me to clear cache anymore.

Is there another option I could try that might work better for my website?

    Thank you

    Sorry I’ve got another problem

When I set a transparent background everything looks fine until I select “fix menu to head”

What happens then is when you click on the hamburger the background for the web pages becomes transparent so the writing for the webpages and the content of the page are both visible making it hard to read the links.

    Hi

Got it now thank you very much for your help.

Is there any way to hide the logo when a user scrolls down from the top of the page?

Thank you for creating and sharing the plugin. It works brilliantly and unlike others I have tried doesn’t slow my website down at all!

    Hi

I didnt explain this very well.

Could the bar background remain a solid colour unless the menu bar is fixed to the top of the page and the user has scrolled down, away from the top of the page.

This would give the best of both worlds because it is quicker and easier for a visitor to navigate around the website when they are near the bottom of the page but the screen size is not reduced by an opaque coloured menu bar.

Or could only the menu hamburger be visible when a user has scrolled down the page?

I would be grateful for any help.

    Thank you.

    Hi Gioni

That’s great. Thank you very much for letting me know

I have set it to maximum security and there have not been any compatibility issues.

    Kind regards

    Hi Frank

Thank you for telling me to check all browsers before leaving the error in place. Although everything was perfect on chrome, microsoft edge and firefox did have problems loading all of the content.

So I have have excluded jQuery from the Async Javascript plugin.

Chrome Lighthouse analysis suggests enabling text compression on jQuery and Autoptimize :-

Could you please let me know if there is an easy way to do this?

    Thanks once again.

    Hi Frank
Thank you very much for the quick response.

You were absolutely right. Excluding jquery from async JavaScript plugin got rid of the error but my google compare my mobile website score has gone from 2 seconds to 2.6 seconds.

The error doesn’t seem to have any effect on the front end of my website. Is there any real downside to ignoring the error in order to get a faster website?

I don’t know why access us being blocked but if you give me an up address I will whitelist it.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi

Yes I was trying something out which I thought was on the staging site but was actually on my live site!!!

The site is back to normal now and the url’s work. There are links at the bottom of the home page to which I am going to add once I’ve added sufficient content to the other pages.

I use “the grid” and utilise the brilliant filter feature, which means people can go to a product page, say wedding flowers and chose which type of wedding flowers they would like to see by just clicking the appropriate word above the grid.

Since I had created all the media-categories to facilitate filtering it seemed a shame not to use them as landing pages.

It does work but to allow images to show I have to use the “add_filter( ‘term_description’, ‘do_shortcode’ );” in my functions.php and “the grid” will still not work so I use envira gallery. I don’t know the appropriate shortcode which would enable “the grid” to work.

I have tried out various plugins for media categories etc but decided not to keep any of them. Is it possible that some elements have remained enabled in my website even though I have deleted all the
    plugins?

There doesn’t appear to be anything in the database as I use the advanced database cleaner plugin which identifies orphan tables, options and schedules and I regularly backup the database and have a clean up.

I know its an unconventional thing to do, using media categories in this way and the creators of wordpress would not have expected this to be a requirement so perhaps i’m just lucky that some themes by chance allow it to work?

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to look into it for me though.

    Hi Tom

Thank you for the quick response.

No I don’t use any special plugin.

It works on the Astra Theme and also worked on the Customizr theme I used before that.

Fairly recently, after one of the wordpress updates, a problem arose whereby although the page showed everything perfectly well wordpress showed a message at the bottom of the screen to say something like “We cant seem to find what you are looking for” and provided a search box.

I looked on the internet and found other people had experienced similar problems with some of their pages and the solution was to add the following additional css:-

    .no-results .page-content {
    display: none;
    }
