 * Actually, I have to apologise, I did a number of troubleshooting steps but I 
   missed one. There was a feature added to the site to change all error messages
   to generic messages (so for example to just say invalid credentials instead of
   identifying specifically if the username or the password was the one entered 
   incorrectly)for added security.
 * So this was blocking the message from your plugin.
