    Digging into the code I finally found that I needed to enable “Account
   Activation Email” under “UltimateMember”->Settings->Email. Yes, I know I should
   have probably been able to dope this one out without a deep dive into the code.
   That said, it seems lame to me that, when requiring users to verify their membership
   via an email link that the template was not enabled, nor were any user friendly
   instructions provided at that time as to what to do.

 * I’m not sure how this is marked as resolved. I am trying to use wpForo with Ultimate
   Member (v 2.0). I am new to WordPress, but not to software. When I install wpForo
   it changes my permalink structure to Post name without so much as a how do you
   do. This breaks Ultimate Member login, logout, and registration access. Ultimate
   Member appears to need the “plain” permalink structure. When I set permalinks
   to that, it breaks wpForo. I get the somewhat less than helpful message “IMPORTANT:
   wpForo can’t work with default permalink, please change permalink structure”.
   Is there a way for the two to coexist? I’m not looking for tight integration (
   although that would be nice).

 * I am having the same experience as [@owenlenegan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/owenlenegan/).
   Including a rebuild from scratch, with permalinks set to %postname% from the 
   get go. Unfortunately, my preferred forum software, wpForo, can’t work with that
   scheme, and changes it to “/%postname%/” without so much as a “by your leave”.
 * Is there some way to reconcile this? I am new to WordPress, but ready to jump
   ship for something else while I’m early into the process.

    Thanks much .for your quick response. WP version: 4.9.4 Active plugins:
    - Asgaros Forum
    - Custom Meta Widget
    - If Menu
    - Multiple Roles
    - Spider Calender
    - Ultimate Member
    - Ultimate Member – Google reCAPTCHA
    - UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
    - WP Mail SMTP
 * And it works now. I started cleanup over other issues and it seems to work properly.
