In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Tooltip "bubble" on iOSOn desktop I can change from one tooltip to another. My scrolling problem may come from too many events per day. I should have included the url: http://jimsrootsandblues.com

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Tooltip "bubble" on iOSI see it too, and on iOS can neither scroll to the bottom of the tooltip (though the rest of the page scrolls), nor make the tooltip disappear (to browse another day’s events) once tapped.
I just discovered the tooltip doesn’t scroll on desktop (Mac) Chrome or Safari, but it does scroll on Firefox.
Using latest versions of everything.

In reply to: [Acunetix WP Security] Acunetix WordPress security plugin brokenI activated the plugin and none the settings checkboxes will check. Little hand hovers, outline gets all red-dotted on click, but no payoff. To the left of the Update Settings button is a blank white button, too—what’s that? Other than that things seem fine, but I would like to check those boxes! What am I missing? Thanks.
Thanks for the note of “solidarity,” and I look forward to hearing any progress you make with this. I have to live with my sloppy fix for the time being, as I have many other things to attend to on the site in question.
Spent hours looking for a solution to this ordering problem, reading years of related posts, and trying all suggestions. Then…
racl101’s post encouraged me to try something.
So on tribe-event-query.class.php on line 548 I changed
‘function set_order( $default = ‘ASC’ )’ to
‘function set_order( $default = ‘DESC’ )’
and voilá! my problem was fixed.I’m a real amateur at coding, so is there a problem that anyone knows of with this fix——aside from having to re-fix it at the next update?
Thanks, racl101!

In reply to: [List category posts] Post thumbnails not showing after update!Deactivating other plugins does not help.
No posts used “featured images” prior to this new perplexing development.
The new media manager may be partly to blame, because I no longer see the ability to edit thumbnails. The library used to keep thumbnails in its database, I think.
Perhaps there’s a thumbnail plugin or bit of code I could add to functions.php?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [List category posts] Post thumbnails not showing after update!I tried with Twenty Ten, Twenty Eleven and Twenty Twelve. No luck.
Twenty Eleven (parent of my child theme) says,// This theme uses Featured Images (also known as post thumbnails) for per-post/per-page Custom Header images add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );
in its functions.php file.
So I’m still stumped! No thumbnails. Any other ideas?

In reply to: Bluehost, REALLY???Well, thanks for all the good advice, folks.
I finally got a Bluehost tech support person named Katrina who’d once been a database manager. Awesomely helpful and genuinely interested in my problem, but it did take 8 or 9 tries and much frustration to arrive at someone with her skill set.
I guess my mistake was trusting Bluehost’s staff before the WordPress Codex. As I’d seen Bluehost “promoted” on WordPress.org I assumed they’d make the process a breeze. Lesson learned; I’m unsure why they’re held is such high regard, as thousands of other hosting companies are available.
Anyhow, I’m still doing cleanup, but the worst of the disaster is over. Thanks again, people.
Actually, if—instead of the start date—the in-progress event could say, “In Progress” or something like that, it would be okay. But I run a page entitled “This Week’s Specials,” and when the first date seen is from a week ago it becomes confusing. Thanks.
Did you find a solution? I just moved my site and lost ALL my hundreds of MapPress maps!

In reply to: [Collapse-O-Matic] [Plugin: jQuery Collapse-O-Matic] Broken after upgradeMe too. had to go back to 1.4.4
Glad I could help! It’s not often I stumble upon solutions others haven’t found. So when I find something useful I feel obliged to “share the love,” if ya know what I mean.
I solved an annoying problem with NextGen Gallery.
On my FTP server I noticed all images and thumbs had been generated. But when managing a gallery I couldn’t see any thumbs. I Googled for a solution, with no definitive success, and I saw lots of folks have thumbnail trouble.
I noticed gallery and thumb folders and images had different and inconsistent values. On a hunch on my ftp client I edited permissions to 755 for gallery and thumb folders. Voilá! Everything worked. I called Panix (my server) and asked if it’s okay to change permissions. They said 755 is great.
I’ve now changed all my gallery/thumb folders and images to 755 and I’m happy. I hope this helps, and NextGen makes this info easy to find.
