  • Problem Solved:

    You must edit the template-tags.php to fix the missing author and update from google console.

    First Locate the file using your file manager. Create a backup first before editing the file.

    /wp-content/themes/editorial/inc/template-tags.php

    To fix the Missing Updated locate this code.

    function editorial_posted_on() {
    	$time_string = '<time class="entry-date published updated" datetime="%1$s">%2$s</time>';
    	if ( get_the_time( 'U' ) !== get_the_modified_time( 'U' ) ) {
    		$time_string = '<time class="entry-date published" datetime="%1$s">%2$s</time><time class="updated" datetime="%3$s">%4$s</time>';
    	}

    then replace this code:

    function editorial_posted_on() {
    	$time_string = '<time class="entry-date published updated" datetime="%1$s">%2$s</time>';
    	if ( get_the_time( 'U' ) !== get_the_modified_time( 'U' ) ) {
    		$time_string = '<time class="entry-date published updated" datetime="%1$s">%2$s</time><time class="updated" datetime="%3$s">%4$s</time>';
    	}

    To Fix the missing Author locate this code again:

    $byline = sprintf(
    		esc_html_x( '%s', 'post author', 'editorial' ),
    		'<span class="author vcard"><a class="url fn n" href="' . esc_url( get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( 'ID' ) ) ) . '">' . esc_html( get_the_author() ) . '</a></span>'
    	);

    Then replace it with this code:

    $byline = sprintf(
    		esc_html_x( '%s', 'post author', 'editorial' ),
    		'<span class="vcard author post-author"><span class="fn"><?php the_author(); ?></span></span>
    		<a class="url fn n" href="' . esc_url( get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( 'ID' ) ) ) . '">' . esc_html( get_the_author() ) . '</a></span>'
    	);

    Then save changes. I hope this helps everyone here.

    Hello,

    Everything is fine now. I already use other service. The solution you provided it’s not working but it’s okay I am still using Jetpack. 😀

    Thank you for your help.

    Good Day,

    1. First of all I do not have any sharing widget enabled in my widget sidebar.
    2. I don’t know how to remove that sharing buttons.
    3. I don’t know what’s the cause it to appear there? (https://ibb.co/dXxWaT)
    4. That is not a post type. It’s a latest update widget Category.
    5 In my current settings it should appear in posts only not in the sidebar right?

    Hello,

    The sharing widget can be removed if you do not want them to show in the side bar as well.

    How can I remove the sharing buttons in the side bar? I am not good in editing. 🙁

    Hello, yes I want it and it’s already enabled in my current settings. But in the sidebar of my website the DCF Daily Gospels (widget), you will notice the sharing buttons at the bottom in the picture that I provided and the sharing buttons it should not be place right there. I want to remove It. 🙁
