In reply to: WordPress 4.9.9 to 5.1 Database UpgradeUpdate: I chatted with WPEngine support and it appears that they do have a custom config that bypasses the database upgrade prompt when on a live/production site. The database upgrade is still performed but automatically in the background.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.9 to 5.1 Database UpgradeSo after some research I checked $wp_db_version in versions.php and db_version in the database and these are both at the appropriate version number for 5.1. I’m assuming this means the database was still upgraded appropriately? Perhaps some managed hosts (I’m on WPEngine) have a server-side configuration that skips the need to click through the database upgrade prompt… only reason I can think of that it would have skipped that. If anyone has any insight on this that would be appreciated so I don’t worry too much but otherwise this should be fine. Thanks in advance!

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.9 to 5.1 Database UpgradeThank you, but I am still unsure as to why the update process prompted for a database upgrade on staging but not on my production site. These are duplicate setups. Was a step skipped by the update for some reason that could cause issues later, or does the update from 4.9.9 to 5.1 not always require the database upgrade prompt?

In reply to: Upgrading core after multiple versions skippedThank you James! I thought this should be ok but it’s nice to get confirmation so I don’t stress about it, especially being a business site. Have a great night!
