    hi @hopetommola,

thanks for checking this plugin out. It’s available in Legacy Shortcodes (or something like that wording) when you want to use it in the widgets.

I hope this helps, please let me know.

    kind regards,

    Hi @o-o,

thanks for hopping in! I have tried this with another one, I am not really sure which one collation. I will try the czech one, but I am hoping it will not only be for Czech, as I try to support worldwide. Do you happen to know anything about this?

Kind regards, and thanks again for joining in,

Hi @wpeterme, I have done some additional testing and tinkering. It seems that some DB settings could influence the sorting, but all my testing has ended up doing nothing. For now I am giving up on this, I am sorry.

    Kind regards Jeroen

    Hi @babar112,

I am so sorry I have missed this comment! The e-mail notification was moved to a spamfolder because of the link.

At this moment it’s not possible to add some fields yourself. Also, the other features you are requesting are far beyond the glossary function that this plugin is providing.

I do however make customs versions of Name Directory, but at the moment I feel that there must be other plugins that meet your needs. Especially since my reply (again, I am sorry) is so late, you might have found something else.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @nekokami,

thanks for contacting me and using the plugin. Sorry for the late answer but my dayjob was rather busy this week.

At this moment i’s not possible to prevent the behaviour your are desribing. I can look into it ofcourse, but the fact that I you can use HTML always brings out challenges on the frontend. This is because I have no control over what you are displaying in the content. Maybe you have a table, an image gallery or lots of markup. All of this is using characters, and the ShowMore feature is a simple one. It just stops displaying characters after X chars. If there is only HTML and now visible content, you will indeed see nothing, or something strange.

If I didn’t enable HTML, I would know that there would only be words and everything would work fine. But there was a group of users that have requested HTML in the description field and it was a reasonable request, but with some consequences.

I hope I have explained this a bit for you. My primary language is Dutch so I hope the English is okay for you haha.

I will do some testing on my local environment and I will also think of ways to explain these caveats to the user a bit more. Currently there is “just” a warning Please be careful! HTML markup is allowed and will we printed on your website and in the WordPress admin. But now that I think of this, not everyone would know what this means.

Also, if you can send me an export of your directory to jeroenpeters1986@gmail.com, I can import it and take a look at what you are using.

I hope this at least answers your question a little bit.

    Kind regards,

Hi @wpeterme, I am sorry for the later reply, but at this moment I cannot really change it. It really creates the list of index-letters by treating a word like “Časopriestor” as “Casopriestor”. When there is this word and a word like Condor in this list, the first word to be sorted would be Časopriestor and this way Č would be listed on the Index. When there is a word that alphabetically comes first without diacritics, then the “normal” letter is used for the index.

I have tried and tinkered with this, but at this moment I do not have a solution for your proposal (use the R before Ř). I will continue to check, but please know that I did check and tinkered with it.

    Kind regards,

Hi @wpeterme, I will have to look into that, but at the moment this part (the diacritics storing and sorting) relies on PHP’s and MySQL’s internals, so I think there is not much I can do. But I will look into it.

There is a disadvantage, I a not a native speaker/user of these characters, so therefore I have no knowledge about how this should be sorted and if this is the same in every language. But if I am understanding this correctly, your assumption is that the NON-diacritic characters should come before the ones with diacritics right?

    Glad to hear @greencode

If you like the plugin and/or the support provided, would you please leave a review https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/name-directory/reviews/#new-post ?

    Hi @greencode

The code works perfectly on my local instance. I think your theme is working against you by having an overall stylerule for all inputboxes.

Hi @greencode, it looks like you’re doing it OK.

Do you still have the code you tried? If you can supply that, I can try it on my own installation to see if that gives any issues.

Hi @jibbius, this fixed in v1.28.5

    Thanks again!

    Hi @jibbius

Thanks for contacting me. I will fix this and publish a new version soon along with some other little fixes.

There is no way to create a PR as WordPress uses SVN. I don’t feel like creating all kinds of roundtours via Git, so at this moment, this forum or my emailaddress is the only way.

    Thanks again!

With version 1.28.2 this is fixed. Thanks again for reporting! This was in issue for new users only, so I hadn’t come across it for testing. Now I know I have to check that as well.

    Hey @cassiefrontdeskcom

can you please try my newly releaesed v.1.28.1 and see if this fixes the problem on your end? On my testing website all is working well. Please let me know.

    Kind regards

    Hey @cassiefrontdeskcom,

thanks again for reporting. Because of busy hours in my dayjob I couldn’t fix it yet, but there is a workaround. You can choose the Quick Import to create a directory. On the Import screen you can just return to the directory overview and use the directory as normal.

    Kind regards Jeroen
