 * Figured it out. WordPress functionality is an extension of the forum plugin. 
   In other words, your WP site is associated with your forum. You can’t have wp
   functionality without plugging into your forum first.
 * Once you plug into your forum (standard model, not BYO), there’s a field for 
   wordpress URL which depends on steps 1 and 2 in the included instructions to 
   function. Hope that helps anyone who has similar problems in the future.
