The Borlabs Cache tip was a good one! This is a plugin from a German provider which I use for page speed.
With this plugin, there are several caching options: refresh cache or reset cache. I had been working with refresh, but apparently it was necessary not only to refresh but to reset the plugin in Borlabs. All redirects are working correctly now – and you were right, it was a caching error after all.

I’ve indeed found another cache. However, even clearing both cache the error persists.
I have now waited a few days, and the redirect is still not working (so it is showing a different behaviour than others previously). I have also added some new redirects, which are also not working, showing the same 404 error.
However, the redirects that had been added previously are still working.
Is it possible that Polylang or another Plugin might be interfering with Redirection?
Do you have another idea as to why this error might happen and how I might fix it?
