I’m just following up with you to check whether the error remains? If so please share the information requested above and we can investigate further.
Thanks for sharing the additional details @dzi022, the recording was very useful to see what’s happening. As I can see you reset Site Kit, if the records are invalid this site. While I did request a site check previously, I’ll do so again considering you’re experiencing the same loop after resetting Site Kit. I’ll report back to you here when I have an update on this, hopefully at some stage this week. Thank you.
Thanks for the additional insights @reagans123. Great that you were able to determine so much on this. With that I went ahead and created the following, based on my own experience also:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/7653Note that in my case, I do encounter the error, but only when using the /wp-activate.php on the main site, and not on the subdirectory sites. Can you confirm this is the case with you also?
Many thanks for the review. Great to hear that you’re enjoying the plugin and how it connects your site with Google services.
Best of luck!
Thanks for the update, appreciate you sharing the recording. If the issue is not occurring in an incognito session or with another browser, it’s possible the cause if a multi party issue with a browser extension and some feature of your admin toolbar also contributing.
While the issue I suspect isn’t caused specifically by Site Kit, so we can determinre more there are a couple of checks we can perform. To do so, please share the following:
- Does the same occur if you temporarily deactivate WP Rocket? I ask as minification or combining of JavaScript assets on the front end, with the admin toolbar, can cause unintended behavior.
- Does the same occur if you temporarily disable the Site Kit feature from the admin toolbar (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Display relevant page stats in the Admin bar)?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Nice work @lselwd, glad to hear that resolved your issue.
If you run into any further errors, or if you have any Site Kit queries, be sure to reach out. Once you get a chance to test out the Site Kit dashboard, be sure to also share your thoughts on the plugin.
Thanks for reaching out @jtsng8. If you’re seeing data for the connected GA4 property over on analytics.google.com, but not from within the Site Kit dashboard, please share the following and we can investigate this further:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- When you click on the “Source: Analytics” link within the Site Kit dashboard, so you see data immediately on the Analytics page that loads? Feel free to share a recording of this experience if you wish, adding a link to the same form. You can use a service such as Imgur or Jumpshare to share a recording.

Thanks for reaching out @lukascech. Firstly with regards the “Unused JavaScript” opportunity you see within PageSpeed Insights, this is normal if you’re using JavaScript libraries such as Google Analytics or any third party JavaScript Resource. It can appear due to not all the JavaScript from these libraries being executed at once, resulting in some unused JavaScript. You’ll find out more on this If you run PageSpeed Insights test on other websites that load third party scripts, you’ll likely find the same.
For further information on this you can also review this Lighthouse GitHub issue, with Lighthouse being the technology used to run PageSpeed Insights scores.
While you can disregard this notice as being normal, you may wish to consider AMP on your site if you’re looking to improve performance score.
In relation to Universal Analytics (UA) firing on your site, I can see that you’re using the latest version of Site Kit, and that Site Kit has only placed a UA snippet on your site. Can you disconnect the Analytics module within Site Kit and connect once more? We’ve recently made changed to Site Kit to only support Google Analytics 4 (GA4), so this will hopefully ensure that only a GA4 snippet is placed.
If you still see a UA snippet placed on your site after disconnecting and connecting Analytics once more, please share your Site Health information and we can check this further.

Thanks for reaching out @senjoralfonso. This isn’t unexpected as it’s a response coming from the Search Console API to state that there is a problem communicating between your site and Search Console. This could be hosting related or could arise from a conflict with your browser or plugin environment. If it’s occurring with more than one site on the same hosting platform it may also be a temporary hosting issue. To determine more on this, please share the following:
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.
- When you mention the “Connect Search Console” property is empty, is it possible that some changes were made at Search Console level?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

In reply to: [Site Kit by Google - Analytics, Search Console, AdSense, Speed] GT- Vs G-Thanks for reaching out @sunlight1976. Site Kit uses the new Google tag to connect GA4 with a users site. This differs to Google Tag Manager, and you’ll find more about how the Google tag works with Site Kit below:
https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/using-site-kit/the-google-tag/After installed SiteKit, in my webpage source I see that code generated uses Google Tag Id, not my stream id. Is it correct?
The code snippet you shared for your site is correct and valid, as you’ll see from this guide on what to expect when Site Kit is used to place your Google Analytics snippet. It can indeed be confusing regarding the GT- prefix but this is normal and expected.
I also checked your site and I can confirm that you’re Google Analytics tag is firing as expected. You can use tagassistant.google.com to check this yourself.
Let me know if you have any further questions with the above.
As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.

Appreciate you sharing these insights, in particular the recording. As I didn’t yet encounter this on a live multisite setup, using either subdomains or subdirectories, can you whether you get the same on a live site, without using any local setup?
We received your Site Health information form response. Thanks for sharing. From reviewing the details it looks like your site is being reviewing at present, with the below status visible:
adsense_account_status: client-getting-ready
adsense_site_status: noneBased on the above, you will need to wait for the AdSense team to review your account. Hopefully this won’t take long, and hopefully this site will be approved for ads. Unfortunately we’re unable to speed up the process here in Site Kit support.
Let me know if you have any further questions on this.
Thanks for the update @vacco1981. Great to hear that this no longer occurs without the admin bar enabled. While this support topic is marked as resolved I will still check this with the team regardless, appreciate you sharing this.
