 * Yes, I have access to all accounts via the net-based wp-login to both Plugins
and Themes. Installing Akismet is about the only useful thing I’ve been able
to do so far. We also have a custom theme that did not transfer over when I imported
   to my local database.
 * As for the Pages tab, **none** of the site content appears there. There is only
one Sample Page, which oddly shows the status of being Published and Public.
 * I figured using a backup plugin wouldn’t be any better than exporting since,
as above, I can’t even see or access the site’s content data. You think a backup
would pull page content that the export missed?

 * Gah, that’s been my fear from the start the more I learned about how WordPress
functions, and I did run a WhoIs check for the associated name & email address.
Sent a message to it several day ago but no response yet.
 * So I guess a big fat ‘No’ is the answer to whether or not the actual site content/
database can be cloned onto my local installation. Is it also possible that the
original database and theme and whatnot has been deleted by the original author,
rendering the site just sort of frozen in its current state (with the exception
   of new blog posts)?
 * Thanks again for your input.

 * Thanks for the reply, leejosepho.
 * I did already attempt to import the contents using this tool, but that gives
me even less functionality than simply logging in as admin via the net, as (for
example) the custom theme is not included in the imported data.
 * I’ve also noticed that the content in each of those .html pages of the site appears
to be totally inaccessible for editing since none of them are shown in the Pages
   tab of the dashboard.
