 * Some progress made. I have discovered that I am getting different IP if I use
   the www. prefix than if I dont.
 * Hitting hosting company with a large stick now.

 * Thats exactly what I did, as I thought I could check that way, yet it still shows
   up in the list.
 * So what could I be doing wrong?
 * There is only 1 plugins directory on the server.

 * I seem unable to get any results from the forum, even if I only search that. 
   Am I missing something?

 * Thanks for the quick reply. I have unzipped them. I have tried putting the contents
   of the folder in the directory directly, I have tried outting the folder they
   are in in the plugins directory. The plugins just say to place them in the folder.
   nothing else. Can you confirm that if I delete the hellodolly.php that the plugin
   should be removed from list of plugins in the wordpress plugins panel?
