In reply to: Can't ADD MEDIAI still didn’t find the answer to this problem.
I did try to follow an advice and tried to change permissions of UPLOAD folder, but I am not sure what number I should use.
Just for refreshing, here is my original question:Hello guys,
When I try to insert an image from my desktop onto my page – using ADD MEDIA button – it fails to do so, giving me this warning:
“Unable to create directory uploads/2013/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
I just checked the permissions of my UPLOAD FOLDER and they are as follows:
OWNER:
Access: Read Write ExecuteGROUP:
Access: Read Execute
Others: Read Execute
UNIX equivalent: 755I am not quite sure, but it might have started happening after the latest WP update.
THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THIS.

In reply to: Can't ADD MEDIAIt looks like WordPress can’t read the permissions for UPLOAD folder, or something. Really frustrating and I really don’t know where to find the answer.

In reply to: Can't ADD MEDIAI just found out that the only thing that works at this time is to manually upload the file onto server via FTP and then to manually write HTML tag for inserting an image, using HTML editor. Stupid, but so far the only way for me.
Guys, please let me know if you find out any solution. Thank you.

In reply to: Can't ADD MEDIAThanks Petergate for contributing.
It looks like it doesn’t work with images that are inserted from desktop, it doesn’t work with images that are inserted from library….
It just doesn’t work at all.
