 * I don’t know that it makes sense to change update-core.php to write permissions.
 * FWIW, my /wp-content folder is writeable and I manually installed 3.7.1, and 
   this message still won’t go away. I don’t have a .maintenance file, and I can’t
   figure out how to dismiss this error.
 * Pretty annoying to see this “error message” even with no real errors.

 * FWIW, this appears to have been documented and fixed for version 2.1. I guess
   us “lowly” 2.0 users will have to wait for the fix.
