 * Meanwhile I kept searching for a solution. I’m using WP3 and I traced back the
   problem to the XMLRPC implementation.
 * After a lot of trial and error I discovered that the problem is a faulty LIBXML2.
   This library is part of php5 and there is a bug in some versions provided which
   removes the leading ‘<‘ on tags.
 * There is a plugin to fix this but it wont work in my case. After contact with
   [Jason Katzenback](http://www.johncow.com) he provided me with an [updated version](http://media.archonmedia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/wordpress/plugins/libxml2-fix_modified.zip)
   that works without any problem.
 * Thanx
