    but not working on the custom theme.

 * Hi,
 *  I have checked with the default theme. it is not working.
 *  Please follow below process.
 *  edit any post having featured image set or set the featured image and then click
   on preview changes. where u able to see the featured image.
 *  i hope this will help you to replicate the issue.
