 * Thanks for your feedback. I’m deactivating the Site Health plugin.

 * Good idea. However, I still get the problem when I disable all my plugins (except
   Site Health of course).
 * Also, if the health-check plugin is active, there is an error when a manual WordPress

   update is done, but if the plugin is disabled, the update gets through without
   any issue.
 * Should I just ignore the error message? If I can update OK without the plugin?

 * Oops. I forgot to mention that I did update WordPress to reinstall the core files—
   as you suggested. I’m still getting the strange message from Site Health.

 * This is working now! I figured out that I had to set the page layout to be “Theme”
   for each page. I was using “Elementor Canvas” and it wasn’t working.

 * So, the first problem was solved. There was a remnant “.maintenance” file on
   the site that was causing the “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete-
   please attempt the update again now” Once this was removed, the message stopped.
 * However, I still have a problem with an error message from the WordPress Site
   Health plugin. “A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()”
 * What does this message mean and how can I troubleshoot it? I’d appreciate any
   help. Thanks.
 * Denise
