 * Additionally, I’ve found that if one tries to edit one of the older posts, something
bad happens: All posts are no longer recognized and appear to be deleted. The
only error message was something to the order of ‘Sorry, you appear to be editing
   a post that doesn’t exist.’
 * I restored the database from a backup and everything came back but the core problem
remains — the editor is screwed up in some way.

 * No, the wp_options crash led to a security incident. Specifically, this is the
problem and it is described recently (May) here, too:

 * I’m hosted on Yahoo. Yahoo offers an install of this version of WordPress to
all its small business users, so they all have the potential exposure.
 * And I did check if the editor was in Visual. It didn’t seem to matter.

 * Resolved. Problem was with a crashed/munged wp_options table in the database.
A repair through the php administrator fixed it.
 * However, why it crashed is a bit of a mystery.

 * More narrowly, the problem is this. Trying to login in always brings up the install.
php file. I looked in the database using the PHP administrator and every table
   is there. However, -wp_options_ isn’t
accessible. When trying to browse, the
   administrator returns an error.
 * What do I do now? Reinstall?

 * Ah, I host on Yahoo and .htacess isn’t even allowed on it. However, the blog
has been working fine, so the problem is something else. And I can’t do an upgrade
because I can’t get in to my WordPress dashboard.

 * Perhaps I was unclear. Log in just gets me to a fresh install screen. I don’t
even get asked to input login and password, although all that is still in my
database, according to myPHP administration program.
 * As for .htacess, I can’t see it.
