I assume the conflict is only with that plugin. I can insert the shortcode for a given category anywhere I want but the page only displays the title of the post. I’m using another background slider plugin called AB Background slider. When I turn this slider off the Wowslider appears and stays correctly on the page. This would be a great workaround but for another problem now. If I have my menu collapsed the wowslider works as intended. If I have the menu expanded though the slider controls are dead. There does seems to be some conflict between the menu and slider content. My site is mostly made up of posts… titles and content text. By default. By defaul WP inserts a permalink so the title is hypertext… links back to my homepage. I was thinking a good day’s work or more also. He’s going to send me the first job that I’ll set a small fee for so I can test it before deciding.
