 * Found out that this is a theme related issue (that does not affect the old posts).

 * Upgrading to the latest version of the theme should solve this problem automatically.
Upgrading to Thesis 1.8.5 solved the issue for me.

 * Post 3.4, the code that image caption generates has been changed. So, it will
require a theme update to solve the problem.

 * Check whether there is any update for your theme after WP 3.4 release. Most of
the themes have solved this issue through minor update.

 * WordPress 3.4 has implemented new code for image caption and many old themes
will require some update to be compatible with this change. Upgrading to the
latest version of my theme (Thesis 1.8.5) solved the problem for me.

 * I am NOT using this plugin but STILL facing the same problem. Looks like there’s
   a bug in WordPress 3.4.1.
 * Have a look at [this post](http://www.traveldest.org/destinations/asia/india/top-10-hill-stations-of-india)
to get an idea what the image captions look like.

 * I am using WordPress 3.4.1
 * I too faced this problem first time today. The image caption that I add in the
visual editor is not getting integrated properly in the html editor.
 * When I make corrections in the html editor and update it, it works fine.
 * But again when I go to the visual editor and save the post, all the corrections
I made in html editor goes for a toss.
 * As of now, I only saw this problem with image captions.

 * Ya, looks like the relative URL thing comes in the way of implementing this suggestion.
 * Keeping the http:// intact in the beginning would keep things simple, but as
you said in your earlier post, it would again be a hurdle if somebody wanted
to replace it with ftp:// or mailto: or something similar.

 * @ esmi: We are talking about the hyperlinking process that starts once you click
on the hyperlink icon in the visual editor.
 * If you do not want to hyperlink, don’t insert the link (don’t use the hyperlink
   icon in the visual editor).

 * @ Ipstenu: Maybe you’re right. But even then, changing the final output as mentioned
in the post above (prefixing the site’s URL) is unwarranted.
 * Also, It should not a problem sensing whether the user intends to use mailto:
   or [ftp://](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gouri/replies/?output_format=md).
MS Word does that so beautifully. If your URL starts with mailto: or [ftp://](https://wordpress.org/support/users/gouri/replies/?output_format=md),
   it does not prefix http://

 * @ kjodle: I am using Visual editor. Though http:// shows up by default in the
box, it gets easily replaced when we copy paste something.
 * Nothing goes wrong if we do everything correctly, but the problem occurs when
   we omit to do something.
 * It’s worth noticing how MS Word handles the URL text without http://

 * Softaculous has taken out WordPress from its list of free scripts. But some web
hosts are still misguiding the customers saying that their hosting panel is powered
with softaculous and they can install wordpress using it.
