 * Interesting [@ktech](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ktech/)! It seems like
something else was preventing you from seeing the change you made. Maybe the
reason for the absence of the addition to your dropdown list was either a WordPress
site caching plugin or browser caching? However, it sounds like you’re all set
at this point and don’t need to experiment any further at this point.
 * One extra thing that just occurred to me… If there’s ever a developer update
to this plugin, it’s possible all of the changes we made in our respective listing-
templates folder will be overwritten and that our listings will appear to be “
broken” again. Just something to be aware of in the future and potentially check
   on.

 * Hi:
 * I was having the same issue and noticed your post. I think I managed to figure
out a solution and just wanted to pass it along in case it’s helpful.
 * In the prior version of this plugin, the instructions from the plugin developer
were to go to \wp-content\themes in your file manager… and then go into the folder
for active WordPress theme (or preferably the folder for your child theme if
you’re using one). Within one of those two theme folders, you should see your
custom single listing template as a php file. You’ll want to copy this file.
 * In the current version of this plugin, where that file needs to reside is in
a new location. In your file manager, go to \wp-content\plugins\wp-listings\includes\
listing templates. Take the file you copied above and paste it within this folder.
Once you do this, you should be able to go back into the WordPress dashboard
for your site, add a listing and see your custom template within the list.
 * By the way, if the above works, I think you can feel free to delete the custom
template from its old location in either your theme or child theme folders.
 * Hope this ends up being helpful!

 * I had the same problem described in this post and contacted hostgator. HG tech
support did change the php.ini file but still no resolution of the error, at
   least initially.
 * Later in my chat session with them, HG tech support suggested that I switch my
theme back – from the commercial them I had activated – to either the Twenty
Ten or Twenty Eleven default themes – and then re-try the update of core wp as
well as my plug-ins. I was very skeptical, but voila – it worked. After the core
and plugin upgrades, I switched back to the commercial theme to restore the sites’
   normal appearance. All is well.
 * On the disparaging remark regarding HG above, I can report only positive interactions
with HG and am pretty happy with the help I’ve received (and that’s unbiased –
no, I don’t receive any money of any type from HG).
