In reply to: [WP-reCAPTCHA] My Own Comments Going Into Spam FolderAdamWill,
When I reply in the comment section of the admin dashboard, the comments go to spam, but I found a solution by replying on the blog page. The recaptcha code shows once in a while, but most of the time, I just had to click on “I’m not a robot”.
Now that I switched themes from Thirty-Ten (a Twenty-Ten child theme), everything works fine. I upgraded to the paid version of Engrave light. It’s called Engrave. It’s an amazing theme!

In reply to: [User Role Editor] Admins unable to access wp-admin directlyAll resolved. I had my hosting company replace the User database with a backed up version.

In reply to: [User Role Editor] Admins unable to access wp-admin directlyTurns out I cannot login in via the /wp-admin page. In addition, I am having trouble with intermittent database outages on my other site that is on the same server. I have a dedicated server.
The only thing I did was to delete the plugin. I didn’t understand your other instructions as it seemed to be missing some words. I assume English is not your first language.
Meanwhile, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks1

In reply to: [User Role Editor] Admins unable to access wp-admin directlyI created two or three new capabilities, logged as administrator and tried to log in as a test contributor. I have no access to the contributor login page using the link emailed to me when I created that new user/contributor. I then tried to log in as administrator via wp-admin link and that does not work either. I lost access to my Admin panel completely. I have access via cpanel and can delete the plugin completely, but I noticed an uninstall file. Is it important to deactivate and delete this plugin via the Admin plugin page or is it okay to completely delete it via the Cpanel.
Thank you.

In reply to: [FT Calendar] Widget TitleI would also like to remove “of events”. In which file is it found?
Matcha,
Thanks again for your reply. I did not keep the code on my page as I need my sidebars. I tried adding the short code which did not work and then tried the code in my header file, but neither worked. I may just change my theme instead.
Thanks for the help!
Matcha,
Yes. I posted this in the correct place. I am referring to Meta Slider Plugin.
On their troubleshooting page: http://www.metaslider.com/documentation/troubleshooting/
they suggest installing WPautop plugin as one fix. This plugin has not been updated in over 2 years.I’ve tried everything and every time I add the code to my home page it makes both the left and right sidebars disappear.

In reply to: Get 404 error showing behind google banner ad in headerI realized that the 404 error shows up when using IE 10, but not in Chrome. Not everyone has updates for IE 10 yet.

In reply to: Thousands of 404 Error SpamTara, Thanks so much, but I am not having comment spam, I am having someone make up urls and clicking on thousands of them, creating 404 errors (page not found). This results in inaccurate pageviews, time on page, etc.
For anyone interested, I just got off of the phone, second call, with Bluehost. This time a different guy gave me better advice. He told me about 2 great plugins: Wordfence and Bulletproof Security (BPS). BPS blocks IP addresses by recognizing this type of behavior and you can adjust the setting to be more aggressive if you’d like. Over time, BPS will begin to block IP addresses. He said that Wordfense is very aggressive, perhaps too much so. I haven’t researched it yet.
I have to stop this behavior as I cannot possibly prove my stats using Google Analytics to those who wish to partner with me, advertise on my blog, etc. It’s showing average time on page as being under 50 seconds instead of near 3 minutes.
What a crazy world we live in! People have nothing better to do than this?

In reply to: Need help fixing many errors in error logcatacaustic,
Thanks so much! I am on the phone right now with Bluehost and they say my site is still being throttled and that something must be wrong with my site. I asked if the server errors were going to be fixed, but the person told me that the errors that I listed above did not pertain to my site, but another’s. I didn’t realize that the list of errors pertained to other sites on the shared server as well as mine.
They had me go to http://gmetrix.com and see what needed improvement. The only thing my site shows is to Leverage Browsing Cache. I already pay for the Pro Plan of CloudFlare which caches my many photos, etc. Here’s what gmetrix shows:
The following cacheable resources have a short freshness lifetime. Specify an expiration at least one week in the future for the following resources:

Thanks so much for your time!
UPDATE: I just found a link on GTMetrix on how to change this: http://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
Yeah! I am off to fix it now! In addition, WordPress has an update. Hopefully that will help as well.
Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: [WP-Creativix] Unable to Disable CommentsDarin,
I looked in there, but I felt the whole file needed to be removed as well as go into every file to see if there comment commands in them. I watched a YouTube video about it, though it wasn’t about my theme, Creativix, there are tons of code you need to remove. Being that I have a child theme, I do not know which files to recreate, and how to do all of that. If I make the changes in the current theme they’ll be overwritten next time the theme is update.

In reply to: [WP-Creativix] Unable to Disable CommentsI read a post about that plugin. I would rather find a way to do it manually rather adding another plugin on my site, as they slow sites down considerably once you have many installed. Thank you though. I really appreciate your time. I just may end up using it anyway as a temporary fix. Perhaps I can then check the plugin files and see how it is done. Have a good weekend! 🙂
