 * Though I cannot be sure when this error occurred, it certainly did occur after
   I switched to a different theme (Iconic One Pro).

 * Thank you for your help. I switched to the theme you suggested: Twenty Fifteen
   and that did not fix the problem. I also deactivated all plug-ins and that did
   not help.
    I am really out of my element here and if you have any other suggestions
   I would be eternally grateful for your help.
