In reply to: [Gutenberg] By far the worst editing experience I have ever had.It isn’t about any one thing I was attempting to achieve. I’ve been building websites with this engine since the b2/cafelog days before the WordPress fork.
When I work on a website with one of the other widely used editors listed above and I don’t know how to do something, it takes me usually less than a minute to find it and figure it out. They are intuitive. Things are where you expect them to be, and they work the way you expect them to work.
With Gutenberg that isn’t the case. I stare at the screen wondering who did this to us and why. I end up usually on a YouTube video showing me how to accomplish whatever it was I wanted to do in that moment.
When I say intuitive I am talking about the entire interface, the UI/UX decisions made from day one that have lead to the design language of this editor. And when I say “nothing intuitive about this editor”, I mean the entire thing, all of it.
After 19 years, this is the first time I have decided that I need to use another tool to build websites for me and any future clients.
Thank you for that! I really hope backwards compatibility isn’t a huge problem for the code.
I am not using bbPress or BuddyPress. I am using the BuddyBoss Platform plugin, which is a fork and merger of both. It is backward compatible and was working fine until this upgrade to 1.1.1.
I run many other bbPress and BuddyPress extension plugins and they all still work fine, so I am guessing it has something to do with the 2.6 compatibility you added?
edit:
Just to be clear, BuddyBoss is completely compatible with bbPress 2.5.14 and anything that supports it.- This reply was modified 4 years, 5 months ago by ghoush.
Thank you for that fix!
This seems to fix the admin.js, but now the verified checkmark is no longer showing up in my forums.

Is there any chance at an update here?

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Get jobs in code or shortcode, created by specific userIt’s definitely not resolved. There is still no way to get a specific users jobs with any kind of shortcode. And no sample code for doing it seems to exist anywhere.
The biggest thing for me is just wondering, how is this not a thing everybody needs?

In reply to: [WP Job Manager] Get jobs in code or shortcode, created by specific userThanks for the response! But that isn’t what I need. What I need is a way for any user viewing my profile on the site to see a tab on my profile (like all buddypress pages are) and when they view it, it should show the exact same output as the [jobs] shortcode, just the list. But it should be only the ones I posted.
Our community is a bunch of marketers who might be making opportunities for each other. So they will want to see what offers that one user has made.
So I need to be able to use the [jobs] shortcode with a parameter for user id.
For anyone dealing with these problems here are the fixes I worked out on my own:
Open bp-power-seo/lib/admin.php and replace line 471 with:
if(isset($searches_ar)){
The $searches_ar isn’t in this block of code, and will never be found. Some refactoring needs to be done to fix that. But as long as you don’t need the searches option, this stops that error message. I only have it making sitemaps for groups and members, so this works for me.
Fix #2 is pretty straight forward. open bp-power-seo/assets/bpp.js:
1. Delete the first line, the $=jQuery one.
2. Replace $ everywhere it appears in the file with the string jQuery.–
Doing those things fixed the plugin for me, and stopped it from breaking a bunch of other plugins I had. Now my site has good group and member sitemaps!
@wfdave just checking in to see if you got that note from my host.
Got it! Here is the log:
I edited out the domain, as the site is not open to the public yet, so it says REPLACED.com instead.
Awesome, thank you Timmy. I know its hard to estimate, but any rough ideas on a release schedule. Can I hope for this in the next week, month?
