 * Problem has been solved – it was a matter of manually re-typing the shortcode
   in “text” view, and now it works.

 * Changing span to 0 fixed it.
    Is there a way to make this the default?

 * Here’s another example on a different site that I run:

 * This is a recurring event that runs daily from February 3-February 14
    Each even
   it is a one-day event – for example, the link above is for the event on Thursday,
   February 4. But the calendar shows dates of Thursday, February 4 – Thursday, 
   February 5.
 * Each event in the recurring series shows the same thing – the event spans two
   days, instead of one.
