In reply to: [Plugin: Ravatars] errors will not activate2.0.2 version activates. But it fails to display an icon for non-Gravatar posters.
As if it can’t find the image file.
It is installed in the normal plugin fashion.
Thoughts.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Zero Cache FilesIn my particular situation, folks, things seem to be fully functional. Thanks for all the advice.
No specific solution, other than two version updates since the problems began.

In reply to: Bad Behavior 403 renders WordPress uselessI installed your most recent version (2.0.15) yesterday and, since then, Host-Tracker reports 403 errors on my site, even though normal access seemed fine.
Here’s the most recent message, and note that the time my service was “restored” is the same time I disabled the plugin:
Hello,
[http://macnightowl.com] http://macnightowl.com now work OK.
Operation restored at 2008-04-22 10:57:21.
Url was down as a result of:
Http error:403
First error was detected at 2008-04-22 09:42:48Last error was detected at 2008-04-22 10:56:50
Downtime total 1 hour(s) 14 min(s) 3 sec(s).
Check failures total: 5.
I’d happily try this again if this problem can be cured.
One more thing: I use WP Super Cache. Does it require the patch you specify too?

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Zero Cache FilesI’ll await more input on that, but I’ll keep it in mind.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Zero Cache FilesBeen there; done that. I removed it carefully, thoroughly.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Zero Cache FilesNo difference either way.
Remember, this worked fine with previous versions of WordPress.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceYes, yes, it’s a whole lot better. π
I’ll let you know how it fares in the days to come.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Zero Cache FilesAll right, I solved part of it. The configuration was messed up by HyperCache, no currently active.
But I’m still seeing this display at the bottom of a page’s source:
<!– 26 queries. 0.617 seconds. –>
<!– Dynamic Page Served (once) in 0.614 seconds –>No indication of caching, even though cached files are being created.
This is a symptom that began with WP 2.5, and I’m using the latest version of your plugin.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceOne thing is that, when one plugin doesn’t do the job, others can be found that do:
So, between WP Auto Tagger and Recent Posts, I was able to duplicate and exceed the functions your plugin provided that I needed — and there’s no impact to performance.
Good luck.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceI had hoped we’d have an update from the author of Simple Tags as to how he is progressing with the reports of slow performance π
Am I wrong, or is this proving to be a hard nut to crack? Maybe a combination of circumstances difficult to reproduce, particularly since not everyone has the problem?
Would it depend, for example, on the number of tags you have on your blog? With nearly 1,000 posts, you can understand my tags approach 7,000.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceOne more thing: I can include more info on the PHP setup, but it’s a pretty standard configuration set up with WHM/cPanel.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceAs of the 1.5.3 update, the problem still exists. π
I am extremely concerned that the author seems to have made several changes of various sorts, but the core problem isn’t being touched at all. Right now this plugin, which has so much promise, remains unusable.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Slow PerformanceI tried 1.5.2 and it made no difference, even with Auto-link deactivated.
Sorry. It’s a neat idea, but needs work.
