 * I use Cyberduck for ftp. When I checked out the ‘advance’ tab (which, funnily,
   is litterally called like you said). It said that I am uploading all files passively-
   by default- .
    That’s a pitty actually, as there isn’t really a possible problem
   left that may explain the contineous message about not being able to get a connection
   with my DB started.
 * The last thing I can come up with is that
    db5.awardspace.com is NOT the way 
   to call the DB host. You, samboll, might be familiar with this. I assume the 
   way I mentioned is the correct one (?) Not that I haven’t tried numerous of different
   ways to call the DB_HOST …

 * After a quadruple check; DB name can’t be wrong.
    Umm, that ‘passive mode’ you
   are talking about; how do I upload passively? I chmodded the files to 744 now;
   I reckoned it couldn’t hurt that much to let Others execute, not write ánd execute,
   my uploaded files, but k. I think that latter problem you mentioned is mine. 
   Is there a certian .. switch to pull? in the FTP-prog preferences or ..
