 * Yeah, as I mentioned in my question, I know about screen options settings. The
problem with those is that they are per user settings, so my screen options settings
have no effect on those of other users, for example my clients.
 * I think the larger issue is a plugin making so many changes to the admin area
with no easy way to globally disable/enable them.

 * For reference this is a local install, running on DesktopServer / ServerPress.

 * The notice was also printing on the front facing pages of the website! Bad!
 * I have to delete this plugin and am looking at other solutions for backups. Backups
are an area where bugs are just not acceptable.
 * I guess some things you just have to pay for.

 * tl;dr: I want a modern, actively developed, high quality e-commerce that does
everything for me, and I also want it to come with premium support and extensions.
But most importantly the plugin and the support needs to be free or very cheap,
or I will complain about it publicly.

 * admin-header.php is a WP core file, so I doubt there is an issue there. Take
a look at /wp-admin/admin-header.php in any current WordPress install to see
   the code there.
 * I tested the plugin with a clean WP install and Twenty Eleven default theme and
still got the error when I activated the plugin, so I’m fairly sure the issue
   is with the plugin.
 * this is with `define('WP_DEBUG', true);` in wp-config.php

 * Actually throws PHP errors in addition to notices, so yeah. It’s bad.
