 * After doing a completely fresh deploy on an NGINX server that’s local, I’ve boiled
   it down to incompatibilities with my theme. If I change my site over to the default
   theme, everything seems to be working.
 * Ancient as my current theme is, I don’t think any WordPress site that otherwise
   renders well should have its static generation broken by a theme.

 * Something in simple_static version 3.4.6 and all versions since have resulted
   in a blank page getting generated.

 * Update: the suggested fix does not help. Firewall keeps reverting to learning
   mode for unknown reason.

 * Actually, the reverting to Learning mode seems to coincide with Wordfence’s own
   scanning. I’ve disabled auto scan for now, and the mode stays enabled. When I
   manually start a scan, I can see the firewall being reverted to learning mode
   within a few minutes.
